Lambda Chi Alpha is a general men’s fraternity that follows Christian teachings, principles and morals. In 1909 Lambda Chi Alpha was founded by Warren A Cole at Boston University and has progressed strongly over the past 98 years. In August of 1972 Lambda Chi became the first fraternity to replace the title of pledge to associate member in an effort to exterminate hazing. In Lambda Chi Alpha all associate members have the same rights as brothers. This means that associate members are able to vote and are democratically equal. Lambda Chi Alpha’s Sigma Iota chapter was colonized at Old Dominion University in 1969 and chartered in 1973 and has stayed active on campus over the past 38 years. This chapter focuses mainly on community service. From soup kitchens to cancer drives our common goal is to lend a hand to those in need.
